Bloody bloody Andrew Jackson
Στη Νέα Υόρκη την περασμένη εβδομάδα είδαμε το Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson στο Public Theatre.
Η παράσταση ήταν φανταστική — πολύ καλοδουλεμένοι ρυθμοί, απίθανα αστεία τραγούδια και χορογραφία, και η αισθητική λίγο ροκ, λίγο emo, λίγο κάνουμε-καλό-θέατρο-αλλά-δεν-παίρνουμε-τον-εαυτό-μας-και-πολύ-στα-σοβαρά.
For the record, ο Andrew Jackson ήταν ο 7ος πρόεδρος των ΗΠΑ–μια πολύ αμφιλεγόμενη προσωπικότητα που δημιούργησε το Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα αλλά ήταν υπέρ της δουλείας και ευθύνεται για την εξόντωση μεγάλου μέρους του γηγενούς πληθυσμού (όσων Ινδιάνων είχαν απομείνει δηλαδή υποθέτω).

On got frizzled up and then there was one.
One little Indian boy left all alone;
He went and hanged himself and then there were none.
